RO FU is the workshop of Ronnie Fueglister, specialising in typefaces.
I approach typeface design as a balance of function and aesthetics, grounded in the richness of language and script traditions. Projects are research-based and iterative, shaped through close collaboration with clients. I am guided by the conviction that constraints, thoughtfully embraced, lead to more genuine outcomes. I bring two decades of experience across type design, editorial design, and branding, informed by a broad command of form, design history, and language. I teach at the Basel School of Design, and periodically at ESAD Matosinhos, near Porto.
Next to a trained eye, type design demands sustained attention and time, which is reason enough not to work alone. Collaboration is at the heart of how I work, and why I tend to say “we” rather than “I”. With that in mind:
